Born in 1958, Louisville, Ky.

Having come from a family with 4 sisters and no brothers, I feel like I have always viewed the world around me in solitude and from an individual perspective. While my sisters were always treated more as a group, my upbringing was more individualized. I had no idea that this most natural process would influence and shape my ideas when it came time for me to express them on canvass.

While others seem to search and long for an individual style, mine seemed to arrive almost immediately with no preconceived intent. I can now only look for new ways to add to my artistic vocabulary, so that my very personal style may grow and become more universal.

Generally this means simplifying while retaining boldness and truth. I have always believed that he who can communicate his ideas simply, opens the door to greater interpretation and acceptance.
