In the summer of 2007, Full Circle Art was sponsored by VSA arts of Tennessee, The Frist Center and The Tennessee Arts Commission to create a program for Professional Development for Visual Art. This program was developed primarily for artists with various disabilities, however, was open to all artists. The focus of the program included educating artists across Middle Tennessee on how to present their artwork in a professional manner as well as how to manage the business aspect of being a professional artist. Opportunities were given to utilize the information by submitting to local and regional juried exhibitions.
“The Artist’s Voice”
In 2008, a ground breaking exhibition featuring works in a variety of media created by Tennessee artists living with a disability was displayed at The Frist Center. Full Circle Art served on the Advisory Committee at The Frist Center as part of the development of this exhibition. Many artists who attended The Professional Development for Visual Artists program, developed by FCA, submitted their works and were juried into “The Artist’s Voice” Conte Community Arts Gallery - at the Frist Center for the Visual during May & September of 2008.
